Plant a Tree in Memory

The Green Graveyard Company have just launched a tree planting service. Instead of sending artificial flowers to a wake or funeral often a more fitting tribute is to have a native Irish tree planted in the memory of the deceased. Click on the link above for more information

Woodbrook Family Tree Planting Day 6th January 2013 at 1pm

A family tree planting day will be held at Woodbrook Natural Burial Ground on 6th January 2013 at 1pm. Family and friends of those who have been buried at Woodbrook in the previous year are welcome to come along and assist with the tree planting, as are the family and friends of those buried in previous years. Soup and sandwiches will be available afterwards at the Holy Grail in Ballindaggin.

At Green Coffins Ireland Ltd we take great pride in supplying environmentally friendly funeral products in Ireland. In line with our companies strong green beliefs all our products are manufactured from natural or recycled materials. Most of our willow coffins are now made at our premises in Donegal. We are the only company in Ireland producing eco-friendly coffins.

Why Choose an Eco Friendly Funeral Product?

All our coffins are made from sustainable, recycled or waste materials, using no varnishes, plastics or metals.

Traditional coffins are often manufactured from chip board which is held together by formaldehyde acid based glue. Hardwood coffins often come from trees that have been growing for a couple of hundred of years. The traditional coffins also have plastic handles, varnishes and glues which are all oil based and harmful for the environment. All the oak used in coffin manufacturing in Ireland is now imported into the country.

The unique shapes, designs and colours of the coffins we provide also provide comfort and choice from the all to often "cold" feel of traditional coffins.
